Is there an organization like this in Japan?
My oven died less than 9 months after I bought it. I have a 5-year extended on-site warranty with the company I bought it from, but because it’s less than a year old the manufacturer is still required to fix the problem.
Booked a repair for a Saturday morning, the engineer called around 9am on the day and said they would come around 3~4 in the afternoon. I informed them that wasn’t acceptable.
They called back and said they could pick it up by noon but that they didn’t have the parts to do the work on site, and would leave a temporary replacement to use.
A week later they returned the cooker, except it smelled weird, was scratched significantly more than before, and the serial number didn’t match the one they had taken away.
Another fuss to get my original machine returned, with assurances that they had successfully diagnosed and fixed the part causing the fault. A visit from the head of the repair shop, and some apologetic bowing.
Again the errors persist.
Another appointment. Another call at 9am on the day of the expected repair to say they can only do it on-site in the afternoon.
Plans for the day ruined again. Engineer swaps what he says are the only possible causes of the error for new parts. Tests briefly and leaves.
Next day error is back.
I want a new machine or a refund.
Now they say they need to take it away and give us a temporary machine while they check it again before they can give us a decision.
At this point I don’t want to give them any more of my time. I want to ‘Office Space’ the oven and buy a new one.
Ideally I want to get an official agency involved now, because I’ve run out of patience and I think the engineer boss is deliberately antagonizing me.
