Question about Moving Jobs

Hello everyone,

I have quit my job, and at the same time, I have moved out of my company provided accommodation. In this case, my previous boss was renting the property from someone, and in turn, renting it out to me.

However, my previous boss has asked for proof that I have changed my address at the city hall (a juminhyou).

I have sent them a cropped photo of my juminhyou, showing only my previous address crossed out with two lines, because I ideally do not want to give them my new one.

However, they mentioned that they need a copy of the whole document so that they can stop paying residence tax.

Do they have right to know my new address? I ideally do not want to give it out because the termination did not go smoothly at all.

Thank you very much for taking the time to read.
