Would this be weird to do?

Hey all! We just got here in July. Unfortunately, our beloved dog was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of September. Luckily, we were able to find a fantastic vet clinic off base (chubu vet, if anyone is looking for a place!) and they’ve been taking wonderful care of him. They’ve been SO kind to us and our dog, and I really believe things would’ve turned out differently if not for them.

Anyways, I’d really like to do something nice for them for Christmas just as an extra “thanks so much for being so good to our baby”, even though I know it’s not nearly as big of a holiday here as it is in the states. I was thinking I’d like to give them one of the Christmas cards I’m making for our friends and family, maybe some baked goods or a little gift basket for the staff to share?

I’m just wondering if that would be seen as odd or kind of like “why on earth would you do that, we aren’t your friends”? To add more context, I see these folks once a week if not more when taking my dog in for treatment, so it’s not like I’d just be showing up out of the blue with it 😂 anyways, any input or opinions (specially from locals/people who are really knowledgeable on culture) would be super appreciated!!
