Hi guys. I am a senior undergrad student at LSE business and management. I've been in love with Japan and it's culture for a while now and since time has come for me to look into getting a masters degree I thought it would be a good opportunity to experience Japan firsthand.
My plan is to do a 1-2 year masters in English in the field of economics/business/management in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya…) and then return to my home country (Serbia) to work a few years before maybe moving to western Europe.
I've seen a lot of people say that Japanese graduate degrees aren't worth much compared to if I did a masters here in Europe unless I'm planning to stay in Japan or Asia.
While considering this, my greatest motivation for wanting to go to Japan is not a prestigious degree but experiencing Japan and its culture. However I would still like to spend my time and money on a degree that is worth something and would give me a step ahead in my career progress even in Europe.
My question is for anyone with experience or knowledge on this issue. Would you say making this move is worth it and doing a masters in Japan is valuable even if I plan going back to Europe. Do you have any recommendations or advice?
I am not looking for an MBA but for a masters program I can take right after bachelor graduate since I have no work experience.
Thanks!
