I'm looking at doing the Shimanami Kaido right at the beginning of March, and my only concern is weather. I've read a bunch of posts on reddit and looked at When to travel to Japan – Travel Weather (japan-guide.com) for weather, and it seems chilly but reasonable. Is there anything I'm missing? Maybe the wind on the bridges and islands would make it frigid?
Any insight would be appreciated!
(Also if you happen to have opinions on Mt. Aso in late February I would be interested in that as well)
