I’m planning my first ever trip to Japan and I’m spending 2 weeks in the main places I’ve wanted to go for years. I hope I can come back at a later date and travel other parts of the country. I’ve done my best to research things to do, but these all came from very touristy websites, I’d appreciate any locations to visit in these areas or restaurant suggestions.
Day 1-4: Akihabara
Anime and gaming stores, animate Akihabara, Akihabara Gamers, Maiddreamin cafe, Mandarake store, Shrine, animal cafe, pandemonium
Day 5: Asakusa
Sensoji Temple, Nakamise street, underground shopping street,
Day 6-8: Shinjuku
omoide yokocho, kabukicho, samurai museum, Shin okubo, harajuku
Day 9-10: Harajuku
Takeshita Street, Daiso, Tokyo Plaza
Day 11-13: Shibuya
Diesel Art Gallery, malls, Niku Yokocho, Yoyogi park, Meiji Shrine
Day 14: Airport
Day of departure, may just wind up staying in the airport until flight is ready to leave

I recommend if you can staying for 21 days and get a 21 day railpass you won’t regret it.
There is just so much you can do in Akihabara. One day is fine, limit two if you are into anime stuff, but you should take one of these day for Ikebukuro and one for Nakano if you want to have more anime/manga stuff.
Samurai Museum is closed and not sure if it will re-open.
Shinjuku, Shibuya and Harajuku, those are probably one day each with what you listed. Also it’S quite odd that you listed Harajuku as a thing to do in the Shinjuku days and that you plan do to Yoyogi park and Meiji shrine on the Shibuya day, when they are right next to Harajuku station. While yes the park and shrines are technically in Shibuya ward, so is Harajuku.
Instead of spending several days in each area, you can easily see more different places around Tokyo. You should also really look into daytrips around Tokyo, there is a lot of interesting places that are 2h or less away from Tokyo and that are not to pricey to visit.
Also, if you go in summer, it will be really hot an humid, if there is no other time when you can go, then at least find festivals, this is probably the only reason to go during the summer, it can be anything from dance festival, matsuri to firework.
