Hi I am a 24 year old from the UK and just recieved an email that I have been rejected from Interac a few days after posting my application. I am pretty dejected as I have heard it is relatively easy to get hired and I feel like I had a lot going for me.
I am a native English speaker, am currently finishing a masters degree in applied linguistics and have been studying Japanese for about 5 years, though I am only at an intermediate level. The one thing I do not have is teaching experience which may be why I was rejected but I have heard that many people who get hired never taught before so who knows. I tried to sell myself in my cover letter as best as I could but maybe I did it wrong?
Now that I have been rejected once I am scared to apply to another company because I am scared I will be rejected from all of them. I really want to go to Japan and sooner rather than later as I have continuously put it off either due to covid or continuing my education. Is there any advice for me, maybe from people who were in similar positions? Should I just keep applying to more places or is there something I am doing wrong? I am willing to share my statement in my cover letter (anonymised of course) I just don't know where it went wrong.
