Looking for a cheap apartment in Tokyo

Me and my uni friend is looking for an apartment in or near Ikebukuro, Tokyo. Max 20 minutes by bike to Ikebukuro. Any apartement recommendations for the two of us? If possible fully furnished and lower than 130,000 yen per month. We are planning to live there for 4 years. I heard there are student accomodations, where can I find one? Thanks for your helpp

  1. Student accommodations are something you need to contact your university about. Other than that take a look around websites like Suumo or Homes jp. But realistically you are gonna struggle to secure housing without some kind of support like your university which it’s very likely they’ll help you secure a unit. Students with no history are kind of a risky gamble for a landlord.

  2. Hmm try somewhere in Itabashi ku (I was born there). I was specifically in Ooyama which was relatively cheap !

I think the place my parents used to rent is still vacant lol and it was pretty cheap . Ofc they may have raised the price when my parents moved out of that place 3 years ago (but my parents were in that place since 1997/1998 lol)

You can get to Ikebukuro via 10 -15 mins bike ride or you can take Tobu Tojo line from oyama station to Ikebukuro (3-4 stops if I remember)
