What EXACTLY happened with Interac?

I’m not an ALT but I keep hearing that they fired a lot of people?
Why? Where did the people go?

  1. They lost contracts in Tokyo, Chiba and Yokohama. They ended up firing a good 200 people possibly more.

    Those ALTs either went to another branch in Interac, worked for another company, found a new job or went home.

  2. It’s really terrible. Probably the biggest scandal to rock the ALT industry in recent times

    Should be an eye-opener to anyone who is working or plans to work for Interac – have an exit plan

  3. Why did Interac lose the contract? It’s not just a simple matters of dollars and cents(Tokyo BOE is well-funded) – there had to be several major scandals involving some ALTs. Anyone know any deets?

  4. Interac charges the most of all dispatch companies. They were charging my boe nearly 6k/hr for me. It’s not a shocker that boe’s cheap out to get Philippines workers from heart and others

  5. The ALT industry is on its last leg. It’s been racing to the bottom for so long now there is no where left to go.

  6. Yeah,. It’s a big deterrent. I haven’t left Japan in over 10 years, and just when I was ready to go and visit family. This Pandemic happened. Oh well, I can wait another 10 years.
