I was looking into the travel options from Tokyo to Nikko and read about the new Spacia X. It looks like a nice experience, but when I found the timetable it doesn’t sound a great option.
The first trains departure time is 7:50 and arrives at 9:39. Would it be a mistake to take this train because of the foliage crowd next month? The first ‘normal’ express train arrives at 8:13.
Taking the Spacia X on the way back also doesn’t seem a good option, since there are no departures between 12:55 and 17:45. However they do departure from Tobu World Square at 15:24 and 16:43.
We don’t plan to go up the Kegon Falls and the lake, because of all the horrorstories about the traffic. So leaving at 17:45 seems a bit to late. We would like to experience the Spacia X, but would it be not worth it considering the expected crowds in Nikko?
