Hey guys. I’m 23 years old living in Canada (Canadian citizen). I’ve been working labour jobs since I’ve graduated highschool and I’m working a job with decent pay and benefits now. 45-55 hour weeks. I’ve always been intrigued and wanted to move to Japan but I know it’ll be nearly impossible because I have no college experience. There’s a few things I thought about going back to college for but not sure yet. What are the right steps to take to work towards getting a job/school/ moving to Japan? Graphic design, 3D design, automotive mechanic are a few things I have interest in. Sorry for the open ended question but if anyone could tell me some baby steps to take. It would be much appreciated. Thank you.

It’s very, very hard to pull off without a college degree. I’d consider going into UX design, getting a job as a product designer, and then looking at American tech companies with openings over there.
Google is usually hiring for their Maps team, the work-life balance is great, and they’ll basically move you there. (That said, a job at Google is hard to get! Indeed is usually hiring too, though.)
As a Canadian you can take a working holiday in Japan. No degree required, but it does have a one year max. After that, unless you can qualify for another status of residence you’ll need to come home.
If you want something more long term, you’re going to need to figure out the career you want to have. We can tell you to go study computer science and get a developer job, but if you hate math you’re going to be miserable assuming you can complete the degree at all.
So figure out your career plan, and then go get the best education you can to enable it. As a side bonus, most universities have study abroad options which would let you hang out in Japan for a semester or two to scratch that Japan itch.
Good luck!
