Drugs for a sore throat?

Hi, I'm in Tokyo with my bf and we have a cold. We brought one of those cocktail drugs for flu/cold but it doesn't help with my sore throat and I need something extra. Back home we're kind of used to going to a pharmacy and, if we don't ask for a specific brand, they'll just try to sell us something more expensive than necessary, so that's why I'm asking: does anyone know of a specific drug for a sore, inflamed throat (no infection)? Bonus points if it's like hard candy so that I can keep the box in my backpack and pop one when I need it.

The closest pharmacy to our hotel, as far as I've seen, is Matsumoto Kiyoshi. Thanks.
