Due to the extensive vaccine and quarantine requirements to bring a pet from the US to JP, I was unable to bring my cat with me. However, my parents agreed to keep her and bring her over once the quarantine period is over.
All of her documents have her microchip # which identify her. I am listed as the owner on the documents (I have the same last name as my parents). I considered listing one of my parents as her owner, but I figured it might cause issues as they are simply visiting Japan, and I actually have a long-term Visa and whatnot.
Basically, I'm worried that they might run into issues because they are not the actual owner of the cat, but they will be bringing her into the country. I am not able to bring the cat myself since I am already in Japan. Am I overthinking this/will it be fine as long as all her documents are in place? I know this is a pretty niche situation, but if anyone has experienced this please let me know.. I sent an email to the address listed on the pet import page but haven't received a response.
