Entered metro’s women only section by accident

I returned from a day trip to Himeji back to Shin-Osaka tonight and headed towards the metro platform, and may have missed some signs as well as any obvious signs (clearly). I’m usually quite aware and notice these things but today I think I was super tired in comparison after quite a long and hot day and just didn’t realise.

I went in and sat down as if everything was normal, and took me about 5-6 stops before I finally looked away from my phone and noticed there were only woman 😫 I instantly thought “Oh sht, fck. Oh no” and got out at the next stop

Is it common for tourists to accidentally go in? I presume there are some that genuinely don’t care or feel they can get it away with it, maybe some even locals too. Thinking back on it, I wish I’d apologised before rushing off but it is what it is, I guess 🙃

EDIT 1: added “after quite a long day” to reiterate I was super tired at the time

EDIT 2: Thank you for your responses! As many other things, I’m obviously not the first person to go through this. Just one of those things you learn through experience and advice. 🙂
