Are flights out of Japan full as normal?

Looking at the cost of flights out of Japan to Europe and being tall the biz class cost is crippling. Wondering if anyones flown out over the last month or 2 and if there’s a chance the planes are full or not. Might have to end up with exit row economy or maybe could get a full row to myself like before(as numbers were restricted)

  1. Yes, planes are full. Flew NRT-EWR in mid-July and again last week on United. July flight had about 5 empty seats in economy (0 in business). September flight had less than 10 empty seats in economy (business was full or close to full).

Don’t count on getting a row to yourself. That was possible during the height of COVID, but not anymore.

  2. Ever since April of this year or so, rather than empty, all flights I’ve been on have been PACKED. Business class barely is maybe at 80-90% capacity. Hell I’ve been in first at over 50% capacity, even a few times at 100% capacity (this was only from America though, I think very few European flights have planes with first because of the longer routing now).
