  1. Thank you for supporting New Japan Pro-Wrestling.

As Typhoon Nanmadol is expected to make landfall in the south of Japan on September 18, NJPW has arrived at the difficult decision to cancel the evening’s Burning Spirit event in Beppu’s B-Con Plaza in the interests of safety.

We deeply apologise for the disappointment caused, as well as for the short notice of this announcement. Refunds will be issued to all ticket holders; those requiring English assistance in the refund process can fill out a contact form at https://www.njpw1972.com/contact/inquiry/ with the category ‘ticket inquiries’.

Schedules live events in Fukuoka on Monday September 19 and Kumamoto on Wednesday September 21 are currently set to proceed as planned; however attendees are encouraged to check English and Japanese web and social media for the latest information.

  2. The major things on tonight’s card were:

    – EVIL, Yujiro Takahashi, and SHO challenging for Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI, and YOH’s NEVER 6-Man Tag titles in a Tornado Dog Cage Survival Match

    – A 10-man Elimination match of Tama Tonga, Tanahashi, Yano, KUSHIDA, and Jado vs Jay White, The Good Brothers, Ishimori, and Gedo

No word on when either of those will be rescheduled to. Right now the show on the 23rd (the only televised event between now and the 25th) has a semi-man event of the same 10-man Hontai/Yano vs Bullet Club tag, except as a straight tag match instead of an elimination match, and the participants of the NEVER 6-Man titles match are not on the card. The main event of that show is an 8-man Elimination Tag match between CHAOS/Hontai and United Empire.

  3. Thry probably wont do it but I’d like to see them throw the NEVER 6man title onto Royal Quest. You have 2 nights to fill.

  4. It’s a bad look for them to make all the wrestlers and personnel travel there only to cancel it at the last minute. It’s not like this typhoon popped up out of nowhere or it was unknown when it would make landfall. You shouldn’t have people like Ospreay or Milano scrambling to get there and then having to find last minute transportation back to Tokyo.
