Full disclosure, I’m not Brazilian in any way. I just got a recipe for doce de batata roxa from a Brazilian friend that I tried and turned out great.
However, I have no idea where to find the minas cheese that’s supposed to go so well with it.
Does anyone know any stores I can find the stuff or a suitable substitute?
Osaka is preferable, but I also visit Tokyo every so often.

real minas cheese or canastra cheese is really impossible to find in Japan. I say that as a Brazilian from minas gerais. as far as I know both are local products with strict exportation regulations. even inside Brazil.
