Apologies in advance for asking something that probably has been brought up before.
I’ll be looking to buy land and have a home built to the preferences of my family in a couple years, before my son starts elementary school. We’re looking to build a largish home that will mainly conform to typical home design, with a couple unique rooms (a ballet practice room, etc.)
Does anyone have recommendations from their experience for building companies that can provide high building quality and customization options for a decent price? I’ve heard an average rate on an order-made home would be 800,000 yen per-tsubo (per 3.3 square meter) , and would be fine with that.
Any recommendations/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Disclaimer: I want to build a house, not buy an apartment, and I don’t care about the resale value because I plan to live there with my family for the rest of my life.

We are happy with our Hinokiya built custom house. They are a mid market builder. If you are looking at adding a ballet room, you might be up market from us.
The best custom builder by tech and reputation is HabelHouse. They do steel frame. If you’ve seen one of their houses under construction they look like a skyscraper just shorter. SekiSui is the slightly cheaper steel frame builder. Their beams are a bit less skyscraper like.
