I’m looking for river tubing to do with a group but can’t quite seem to find what I’m looking for. Preferably somewhat outside the Tokyo area but any location in Japan would be good to have knowledge of, if anyone knows of such.
Thus far, I have found and done easy white water rafting/kayaking/canyoning in the Okutama+Minakami mountains. But for this I’m looking more for lazy river style tubing where you just bring your own tube and hop in the river as the group has some who’re a bit too scared of canyoning and white water rafting. And my googling always brings back rafting results.

The Shimanto in Shikoku is awesome but can be hairy.
Canyoning looks like fun. Any recommendations?
Kids were doing this in Gujo (Gifu) on the weekend when we visited. Looked like a very chill place.

After I’m done being an ALT I might look into working as a canyoning guide or something. Back in the US I worked as a white water raft guide for years, and my more recent passions/jobs there were teaching wingfoiling, windsurfing, and snowboarding.
