Trip of (maximum) 8 days in Kyushu

Hello everyone. I want to start off by saying that I live in Japan so there will be no visa trouble. I have holidays from Friday September 23rd to Sunday October 2nd. I want to travel in Kyushu, but I don’t know how to balance my stays between the places or what is a must-see (although I took a glance at TripAdvisor). It is **my first time ever** organizing my own trip, so any tip is very welcome!

I am a Miyamoto Musashi fan so I will stop briefly in Shimonoseki to go to Ganryujima. Any nature/samurai-related recommendation is greatly appreciated!

September 23

* Travel Tokyo -> Shimonoseki
* Ganryuu-jima
* Travel Shimonoseki -> Kokura
* Kokura Castle
* Travel Kokura -> Fukuoka

September 24

* Fukuoka (am not sure what to do yet so any recommendation is greatly appreciated)

September 25

* Fukuoka (am not sure what to do yet… morning only)
* Travel Hakata -> Nagasaki
* Dejima
* Inasayama

September 26

Please don’t consider this a detailed list of what I will do, but rather a list of things I *want* to do. By walking there in person I will probably notice a few things I want to do which will help fill my days!

  1. I would recommend keeping an eye on the typhoon news, as that is currently upending their livelihoods.

    Personally I love yufuin and beppu, as they are a nice long weekend with a surprising amount of touristy things to do.

  2. For Fukuoka, maybe Dazaifu if you are into shrines. LaLaPort mall has the newest full size Gundam if you are into giant robots. The temperature is really nice for the beach or parks so either Itoshima for the beach or Ohori park.
