someone told me that I can ask my Amazon packages to be delivered to a nearby combini.
How does it work? I simply put the combini address in the destination address for the package?
Do I need to tell the people at the combini in advance or I simply appear there to get the package once delivered?

No do not do this, or you’ll never get your package.

Also, there is the questions thread stickied in the sun which is where you should have posted.
When you place your order on amazon, for delivery you choose convenience store, and if l remember rightly you have a list of convenience stores close to your registered address to choose from.
When your order arrives at the store, you get an email to say it has arrived as well as another email with the reservation number, or with a qr code
If it is a number, you go to the convenience stores ticket machine (loppi etc) enter the number there and you receive a qr code print out.
You take the qr code to the register, they scan it, retrieve your order, you show them ID, and make any payment you have to….
Then you are done.
