4 Week Itinerary for Tokyo: Late October/Early November

I’m an artist/stationery person looking to do some art and paper related shopping and other activities in Tokyo for about a month. Solo travel.

I’m not looking to over extend myself, so am trying not to fill each day with too much. I am aware that the Ghibli museum is currently not accepting foreign visitors, but am hoping that can change with the visa free travel announcement hopefully coming tomorrow.

Some other questions:

Is there a locker super close to Nakano Broadway? Also, do the lockers at the train stations let you open/close them throughout the day? Or can you only put in your bags/items once then when you return have to take them out? I will be doing a lot of shopping but traveling without a car. Am trying not to have to carry everything everywhere if I can help it.

If you happen to know which of these places take American Express (would prefer to use that over my other cards due to plans and points) and if any of the places below only take cash, that information would be great. I have looked for places like Shibuya 109 but seems like most places in Japan say “take credit card” rather than give the specific ones.

Thanks for reading!

There are lockers are the station. The majority of lockers you find will be ones where once you reopen you’ll need to pay again to lock it up.

If you have a modern iPhone you can use load suica on it and charge it up through apple pay and use that instead. As for if they actually take amex or not that is hard to say, but if they say that take credit cards they usually take Amex. In general it is a good idea to carry some cash with you just in case.

You can also probably go to Shirohige the same time as your Nakano day the Kichijoji store just a few stations over from Nakano on the same line. Alternatively you could go on a day you’re going to Ghibli Museum since it is also near by.
