We are a family of 3 – **Mum, Son (21), Daughter (19)**
Planning a trip to Japan in Feb 2023. We love nature, cultural experiences, history and trying new foods (although we aren’t major foodies). This is our plan so far…what are your thoughts?
**Tokyo 16th – 19th (3 nights, 4 days)**
\- This is probably not enough time in Tokyo right? We are arriving at 6am though.
\- Stay in Taito City (airbnb)
\- Interested in: Akihabara, Ghibli Museum, Edo-Tokyo Museum, Harajuku area, Shinjuku Gyoen Garden (need more suggestions)

**Nagano 19th – 21st (2 nights, 1.5 days)**
\- Stay in a Ryokan (will it be too cold at end of winter?)
\- Interested in: Snow Monkey Park, Soba cooking class, maybe Shiga Kogen Snow Activity Park
\- We aren’t able to ski because I’m too injury prone haha!

**Kyoto 21st – 24th (3 nights, 3 days)**
**-** Stay in Gion area (airbnb) – for the cultural feel (maybe Geisha there)
\- Interested in: Bamboo Forest, Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka (Sloping Streets), Toei Kyoto Studio Park, Temples and Shrines

**Osaka 24th – 27th (3 nights, 2.5 days)**
**-** Stay in Namba area (airbnb)
\- Interested in: Universal Studios, Dontonbori (food and shopping), sky building, Expo 70 park

**Laka Kawaguchiko 27th – 1st March (2 nights, 1.5 days)**
\- Stay in an Airbnb
\- Interested in: Bike ride around the lake to see Mt Fuji, Houtou Noodle Restaurants, Natural Living Centre, Music Forest Museum

**Train back to tokyo on 1st march – Flight at 10pm**

Main concerns:
\- Is that enough time for a glimpse of Tokyo? Should we extend the trip by a couple of days because we don’t want to miss out on the other places
\- Is Osaka worth 3 nights?
\- Is it easy to buy train tickets? We don’t want the JR rail pass because it is no use for our costs
\- Trip is for my son’s 21st, he loves anime and video games — we need more suggestions on places for this
