Being thankful and enjoying the weather.

The world is a bit of a mess right now.
But weather is nice in Tokyo. Leaves will start turning color soon.
Looking forward to going hiking on Mt.Takao and eating sweet potato and chestnut treats.

What other fun things is everyone planning?

  1. Sweet potato season in Japan is bae. I’ll go through two or three of those succulent things a day. Since they also happen to be packed full of nutrients, I can’t wait for them to go down a bit in price.

  2. Definitely looking forward to the autumn leaves.

I found a cafe near a big local park that looks nice, and has outdoor seating. I’m thinking about going there to chill on the weekend if the weather stays pleasant like this!

  3. summer is my favorite but i’ve been trying to force my way into sweater weather for weeks now. the air is starting to feel so crispy and nice… last year i went to nikko for my birthday and i can’t recommend it enough!!!

  4. Study for the LSAT all day like usual, this time not having to turn the AC on in my apartment. Also nice not sweating my ass off like usual whenever I decide to get some of that rising sun which always exacerbates my eczema.

  5. Digging the sweater piles out of the back of the closet. Going on a lil trip to Takayama this weekend. The rice chaff is smoldering in the fields, the jorogumo are plumping up, and the sun is being beaten into submission by the rain clouds. I am THRIVING.
The return of sweet potato and chestnut and kabocha sweets truly is lifegiving, even if it’s always a bit of early arrival. Steam buns and hot tea displays are plugged back in, baby!!!!!

  6. Is there anything as nice as sweet potato season here? I had a wonderful barbecue with my in-laws and niece, and cooked up some sweet potatoes in the coals. I’m looking forward to the temperature coming down a bit, too!
