Updated Itinerary- 10 Days in Tokyo Summer 2023

Originally I planned for 2 full weeks in Tokyo, but I decided to cut down just to the places I knew I was really eager to go. At a later date I’ll plan another trip to Japan and visit other parts of the country. And yes I know some people are gonna say “3 days is too much in Akihabara/ Ikebukuro” but I don’t feel like explaining myself to every single person who tells me this. I enjoy leisure and spacing out activities over the course of a few days rather than trying to jam all of it in one day.

I’d really appreciate suggestions of specific restaurants or stores or locations to visit in these places, and please feel free to tell me if anyone of these places are no longer open.

  1. So, Nakano and Shin-okubo are close to/in Shinjuku.

Also, Harajuku is in Shibuya, Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi park are next to
Harajuku station. Also, Miyashita park isn’t really much off a park, unless you’re interested in some of the stores there, it’s not really that interesting.

  2. ….. ok, but Nakano Broadway is NOT in Akihabara… it’s in Nakano. That is 10km away from Akihabara. Luckily you can move from one to the other in 20-25 minutes train ride, but it is not in the same area

Shin-okubo is next to Shinjuku, it make no sense on the Asakusa-Ueno day.

Would make more sense to remove a Akihabara day and make it a Nakano Shin-Okubo day.

Just out of curiosity, what are the shrines that you want to see around Ikebukuro, I just do not remember any specific one and I’ve been to Ikebukuro several times.

And AGAIN, Meiji-jingu and Yoyogi park are just next to Harajuku station (even if yes they are technically in Shibuya ward…. but to be real, a part of Shinjuku station is in Shibuya ward)… it would make much more sense to go to the park and Meiji-jingu in the morning before the shop start opening in Harajuku.
