I just enrolled in health insurance and I’m a bit confused about whether or not I need to fill out a tax form and when?The info pamphlet I got when I registered stated I needed to fill out a fax form to get the lower rate, but that you must wait till Jan 1 to submit it so I’m confused about what my premium will be.
I worked a part time job in the us last year but my income was only around $4000 I believe, so I think I should get the lower rate, but I’m not sure if need to fill out a tax form in order to get that rate?

Did you just move to Japan? Or have you lived in Japan for years? If you just moved to Japan, you have no income for the previous year. So you’re premium would be the minimum. 2000 yen a month
