i did the application online…sent my picture and whatever they needed a month ago. when i did it i got an email that said it was accepted but that it will “take some time” … how much is “some time?” if any of you did it, did it take this long or longer?

It depends on the city/ward, but it can take up to two months. I think when I did it I got the letter to go to city hall after 6 weeks.
1 month I think. I applied in July and got it in August.
Took me like 3 freaking months, though I don’t know if COVID slowed down the process. Don’t let it expire like me.
Depends on the city/ward and how many applications they get. They always say it’s 2-3 months, but when I finally decided to apply I got it in 2 weeks.
I went to the my number desk at my city office, did the application, and they made my card right there and handed it to me. We live in a small city outside of Fukuoka, though, so I’m not sure if that’s possible if you live in a metropolitan area.
It will entirely depend on how big/busy your registration place is. Only took two weeks for me when I went in and did it, but I live in the sticks.
