So my socks I bought before moving to Japan has finally worn down. Anyone have good socks recommendations and where to buy them? Everything I’ve found online so far are usually not available here.
I’m looking for something comfy that deals well with sweat as I’m pretty active so good for gym and casual hikes outdoors (although I have specific socks for skiing or serious hikes), but also fine for everyday wear. Also crew socks height wise is ideal. Don’t mind something a little expensive if it’s long lasting!
I been looking at Allbird socks as I hear they’re very comfy but reviews on reddit seems like they wear out within a few months :/ anyone have any experience with them?

You can’t go wrong with darn tough, comfortable, they last forever, and even have a lifetime warranty. They’re expensive but it’s worth getting a few pairs for different situations and knowing you’re set for life!
Montbell Wickron socks have worked well for me for a long time. As you can guess from the name, they deal well with wicking sweat. The same style comes in a few thicknesses, as well as crew and ankle-length. Not sure where you live, but the thinnest “travel” level might be enough for use cases in Tokyo, and I’ve done short hikes in them no prob. You can get them at any Montbell store.
I imagine there’ll be some recommendations for wool socks, but if you go down that road, make sure to buy a test pair first. They run a bit hot for some people.
Workman sometimes has merino wool socks.
I bought some sports socks from Amazon that say THROUGH TIME and they’ve lasted me pretty long. I plan to buy more next summer. Plus the fact that they have traveled through time to get to me is appreciated.
The family mart socks have actually done me pretty decently for the price, give one pair a whirl and see how you feel about them!
Tabio or Guts-man toe socks. The athletic ones have rubber/silicone on the sole so your feet are very stable within your shoes. They work great in conjunction with minimalist/barefoot shoes.

All made in Japan socks. The highest quality that I know of, in the world. Of course a bit pricey but it’s worth it. Good for Japanese gifts to your foreign friends too.
I have no issues with allbirds.
My favorite brand is darn through.
I’m planning to try point6 when I would need.
I also have farm2feet but I’m slightly disappointed.
