  1. Yeah fuck our money. Might as well add another 15 percent fall on the yen as well. Does not matter anyway Japan is racing to developing status faster than an ojisan can drink one cup.

  2. Beer in Japan is already twice the price of beer in the UK, adding another 10% and I seriously might have to stop drinking.

The government want to know how to get young people drinking? Maybe help lower these prices.

  3. Japanese labor productivity is the worst in the G7. It makes sense therefore to ‘downgrade’ Japan into emerging market status. All major stakeholders in government, BoJ, and the private sector seem to be onboard.

  4. Well…. At least I will finally get on shakai hokken from next month, which will hopefully save me enough money to cover this.

  5. This could be looked at as a good thing as well. Companies reluctancy to raise prices, ultimately leading to deflation has been a decades long problem. It’s also important to note that the economy is growing at a rate it hasn’t been in decades at the moment.

  6. Muh fuggers better grab some plums and make some of your own shit like my Japanese neighbor taught me. I ain’t paying for a GAHD damn thing. Raise the prices all you want!

  7. “It is certain that the tendency to cut down on expenses will grow
stronger among consumers, especially low-income individuals who will be
careful to avoid nonessential and nonurgent spending.”

    They certainly are aware.

  8. As someone from Seattle WA I’ve found Japan to be incredibly cheap. But the strong dollar and weak yen does help. Beer is so much cheaper here a pint of beer in Seattle can easily be $8-10.
