Current PR Processing Times (Again)

Yes, yet another post about PR waiting times. Following up on a post from earlier this year.

I applied under the 10 year track using a scrivener back in late April, and was told it would take about 6 months. All requirements met.

Fast forward to now, no extra document requests, and the scrivener told me that applications that they had submitted for other clients back in Feb haven’t been approved yet and to expect another 2-3 months.

Got a friend who applied with HSP after I did and received theirs last week.

Any updates from those of you who have applied in 2022?

Edit: applied in Shinagawa

  1. My second attempt was submitted mid-June, additional info requested July 1, and nothing since (not that I was expecting anything yet).

My application last year was 7 months to receive a denial. I’m currently on HSP, but applying via the spouse route, and it’s been my spouse’s employment history, pension, and insurance payment history that has been the problem.

Funny how _I’m_ the one actually working through paying off the social debt of one of Japan’s citizens, but nope, can’t give this foreigner PR because the family record isn’t squeaky clean. If they shoot it down again this time, my next application will be on the 3-years-resident rule of my HSP.
