Interesting moment in Japanese Department store

So I am in Fukuoka and with my friend at a department store, my friend who just got his payday, he works as a host. We end up going to Louis Vuitton so he can go get his wallet he had wanted for a long time. The person who was in front of us gave me the weird vibe with his tattoo , in his 30s with a pretty scary impression and his girlfriend who was pretty young, mid 20s I think. I’m guessing he’s a yakuza, but I can’t really confirm. My friend chose his wallet and when we were paying he realized he did not have enough to pay for the wallet. The wallet was like 2 grand I think and he need 1万1800円. My man went quiet for like a minute before the scary dude pulls out his “department store point card”. Paid for the missing amount with his point card. He told us to learn money management and I was pretty shocked a guy like him would pay for someone else especially for a “katagi”. I thanked him
me and my friend and gave him a respectful bow. From what I knew, giving someone a confectionery for “お礼”, so while my friend was getting his wallet wrapped, I went down to the confectionery area on 地下2階 and bought some 饅頭。Tried looking for him but I couldn’t find him. I guess he left already.

  1. People who cannot plan further into the future than 5 minutes are getting financial help buying ridiculously overpriced stuff by man wanting to get laid.

  2. So, your friend has been eyeing this particular wallet for a long time and doesn’t know how much it costs?

  3. Do not get yourself obligated to the yakuza. Just being friendly to a yakuza that might be able to recognize you in the future is dangerous.

    Fukuoka is a small town.

  4. You’re going to get a bunch of negative comments because everyone on here is a dick, but I, for one, enjoyed the story. Thanks for sharing!

  5. Why are you getting so much hate? Anyone who bothered to read it could see that it wasn’t even you who bought it.
