Hello,
are there any swimming pools of any size open during the night in Tokyo? Either in hotels or sports clubs or anything else.
Alternatively, is there any swimmable river in the city?
Maybe not, but who knows.
I am searching around but hopefully someone here has some intel.
Thank you

It depends on what you mean by “night.” Most public pools I know of are open until 9 PM. I presume there are 24-hour sports clubs, but I don’t know of any.
About night pools: yep, google ナイトプール. Although, it’s a thing people do (according to what I’m finding) as a girls night out type of thing or a couples/date thing, so I don’t know if that’s the vibe you’re looking for.
Whatever you do don’t even think if swimming in the rivers here. They’re kinda icky.
Meguro kumin center is open until 10pm 😅 that’s the latest one I know and I go to a lot of different pools as a teacher. My memory is crap though so don’t quote me! Lol
The latest you can swim anywhere is until 23:00 at Konami Sport or Tipness. Every branch has a pool, but membership is expensive. Konami is nicer in my opinion.
Even hotels like the Keio plaza and New Otani close the pool to guests at 22:00.
I guess they don’t want to pay lifeguards overnight and they don’t want to risk the morning shift having to fish a drunken body out of the pool with those little nets.
Incredibly disappointing but them’s the breaks.
The Hatonosu valley has some great swimmming
