4 Week Cherry Blossom Season Itinerary Review

Hello everyone!

I am looking for guidance and suggestions on my rough itinerary for cherry blossom season! **Basically I am looking to optimize the route and days spent in each city**, **not for suggestions on what to do in each city**.

**Target Dates: March – April**

**Duration**: **About a Month**

**Nights City**

* 2 Tokyo – Fly In, settle in two nights
* 4 Fukuoka – Fly to Fukuoka. (incl. Day trip to Nagasaki)
* 1 Hiroshima – (incl. Miyajima) Train to Hiroshima, stay a night
* 4 Osaka – (incl. day trips to Nara, Kobe, Himeji)
* 5 Kyoto – Mostly the usual touristy stuff
* 2 Kanazawa – Mostly the usual touristy stuff
* 1 Shirakawa – bus here, stay a night
* 1 Takayama – bus here, stay a night , train to Tokyo in the morning (stop in Nagoya for a day? or Tokyo?)
* 1 Hakone – train to Hakone, stay overnight, maybe stay at a ryokan/onsen
* 2 Fuji – Five great lakes, possibly theme park, pagoda
* 4 Hokkaido – Train from Tokyo to Hakodate, stay a night, train to Sapporo? Fly back to Tokyo
* 6 Tokyo – (incl. day trips to Nikko, Hakone, Yokohama), Mostly the usual touristy stuff, Fly Out

**Questions:**

* Should I add in Hakone as a full night stay?
* Is the travel between Takayama to Hokkaido too rough, should i just fly from Tokyo or enjoy the scenic ride?
* Should we do Hokkaido after a week in Tokyo instead?
* Should I adjust some days more or less?
* Considering doing a full night in Nikko, thoughts?
