Hi all, looking for some feedback on my itinerary for my trip Oct-Nov. This will be my first trip to Japan, looking to sample a bit of everything along the golden route, with my main interest being in checking out Tokyo. My main concern is the pace after leaving Tokyo, where I’m mostly just spending one day in each area, and if this is too fast. Let me know how this looks! Thanks.

7-Nov – **Day 11** \- *Kyoto* \- Imperial Palace/Fushimi Inari/Kinkakuji, etc.
8-Nov – **Day 12** \- *Kyoto* \- Daytrip to Nara.
9-Nov – **Day 13** \- *Kyoto/Osaka* \- Travel to Osaka and check-in to hotel. Explore Dotonbori.
10-Nov – **Day 14** \- *Osaka* \- Universal Studios.
11-Nov – **Day 15** \- *Osaka/Hiroshima* \- Daytrip to Himeji on way to Hiroshima. Check-in to hotel in Hiroshima.

13-Nov – **Day 17** \- *Hiroshima/Matsumoto* \- Travel to Matsumoto and check-in to Onsen Ryokan near Kamikochi.

I can’t imagine you need a full day for akihabara / asakusa / or odaiba. Look into at least one or two other place you’d be interested in checking out per day.
The pace is fine. The only downside of staying places for 1-2 nights is that you spend a lot of time travelling but most locations aren’t too far apart.
You’re doing a lot of checking in/checking out of hotels. I’d look into travel times and do day trips instead of spending every other day lugging suitcases around.
