With the recent announcement of “visa-free” travel, family and friends(solo traveller) are excited to travel to Japan. However, I’m very skeptical of the scope of “visa-free” term. Does this mean that even travelers from SEA Countries, which requires a visa to travel to Japan, now can visit Japan with ease?
I’m just worried that friends and family that fly and might end up being denied entry.
Am I missing some information?

It goes back to how it was prior to 2019. Only countries that had the visa-free status before regain it.

? It’s going back to the way it always was. Did they need a visa before? They still need one now.
It’s basically just a return to the visa waiver program that was in effect prior to the pandemic.
