Hey all,
I am a student soon to be going to Japan for 6 months. I have been wondering if its possible for me as a foreigner to get vaccinated there? I would be interested in the vaccination for Corona Variants B.4.5 and Japanese encephalitis ( I have been told it is recommend for long term stays). Does anbody know if that is possible and maybe how much that would cost?
thank you!

Can you not get vaccinated before you leave? It would be much easier to make an appointment in your home country.
It is possible to get Omicron vaccine in Japan, but it is not going to be easy. First, you have to go to your city hall with your existing proof of vaccination for at least 1st and 2nd dose (either Pfizer, Moderna, or J&J (1 dose)). Then you should be able to get a vaccination coupon for Omicron vaccine, following the timeline of your city. Then you have to reserve a vaccination with the vaccination place you wanted to go to. Depend on where you are, detail in English might be hard to come by.
I don’t know about encephalitis.
You can get your vaccination ticket issued at your city office. The vaccination itself is free.
