As the weather might be quite nice on Monday/Tuesday I’m thinking I might go swimming somewhere near Tokyo. Are there any beaches near (max 2 hours away) Tokyo that would be open for swimming on Monday/Tuesday?
Having lifeguards? Probably not as the season ended at the end of August.
Was in Shimoda last weekend, a cop told us we can go to swim (had kids with us) but at our own risks.
Knowing that, any beach near Tokyo should be okay to swim.
Water quality is going to be pretty awful, if not hazardous, in the wake of this typhoon, just FYI.
On your conditions, beaches located in Chiba prefecture or Kanagawa prefecture are practical options. However, all of the beaches are closed on the end of August.
