Applying for PR next year through 80 points HSFP route, what should I be aware of?

I started an IT job in Japan earlier this year on the HSFP visa, and fortunately have the 80 points needed to apply for PR after 1 year. I don’t know anyone else who has though, so I have a few questions.

1. If I am deemed to have the 80 points by immigration, will I essentially almost certainly be granted the PR, or could I be rejected due to not having “Close enough ties”?
2. I heard of someone else on this thread getting rejected due to paying the residence tax late due to some confusion. Is there a way I can auto pay that next year, or any steps I should take to make that go slowly.
3. Guarantors no longer have to show income, so I am a little more comfortable asking some of my Japanese acquaintances from some clubs/meetup groups that I am in, but is it weird/am I likely to get passively turned down (Since people don’t outright reject requests here, but also you can never how willing they are on the inside)
4. My annual income is 11 million yen. In order to get the 40 points for the income above 10 million yen, is that calculated by payslips over the last 12 months, or by the income on the tax return for the previous year calendar year(as is done in Korea). Because if the latter, then I won’t have over 10 mil in taxable income this calendar year since I was only here part of this year.

I don’t know anyone with 80 points and still get rejected, but the possibility is certainly there.

You can ask your company to deduct the residence tax directly from your salary.

I don’t have an answer for this. But keep in mind that people with PR can also act as guarantors. I asked a non-Japanese friend to act as mine.

You only need to prove that your income is over 10M for that one year period. So pay slip for that 12 months is fine. In my case, I asked my company to issue an income certificated that lists my income at the time I applied and 1 year before that.

Not an answer to anything, just a question. What _do_ they have to do/show now?
