I think it’s cool they managed to find something interesting for him to do when they really didn’t have to. He’s been doing this for 30+ decades and can barely even move anymore. But he’s gone through a legitimately great character arc when he became more of a legitimate manager during G131 and then being the sole member of Bullet Club to stand against Jay. Him tapping out Gedo was sweet. All of us could use a Master Heater in our corner.
In general I’m impressed with how NJPW turned me around on the GoD face turn. I thought it was a horrible idea at first because Tama was so vital to the Bullet Club’s identity. But they did that angle so smart, having Tanahashi be the one to kind of guide GoD after their careers got turned upside down was a great story beat.
I haven’t been paying close attention to him lately, but am I crazy or has he been moving better since his face turn? I remember him doing a run in back in 2020 and he was moving down the aisle like he was C3P0.
