So I’ve been living in Japan por almost a year now and before coming here I used to do lead climbing. I go to my usual bouldering gym every week but I really miss outdoor lead climbing sometimes. Do you have any good recommendations? Specially around the Kansai region would be appreciated but any nice place sounds good since I want to do some climbing trips around on spring. Thanks!

Check out r/climbjapan. And make friends in your local gym, because you’re not going to show up at a crag and find a belay…
Closer to Kanto than Kansai unfortunately, but Mizugaki and Ogawa. Geographically they’re next to each other, but getting to the actual climbing area for Ogawa requires you to go around to the north. My local climbing circle tends to bounce between those two spots the most.
Okinawa is not so bad for climbing.
