Father daughter swim classes

Hey all. Does anyone have a place they can recommend? English preferred if possible.

My daughter is almost 3 and I think a swim class together would be fun.

Big side note – I have a full body of tattoos. So..a place that’s ok with this?

I know this is asking a lot.

My location: Suginami-ku / Nakano-ku

  1. Don’t have any tips for a swim class. But I think if it’s a public pool (owned by the city) you could probably enter even if you have tattoos.

The pool I go to is owned by my city (Setagaya), and now and then I see both Japanese and foreigners with tattoos there. Not full body tattoos, but smaller ones on shoulders, legs and what not…

  2. I did a class with my granddaughter for a couple of years (age 2-4 or so). Didn’t see any tatoos, was held in Japanese.

  3. This sort of thing would be pretty special, given that swim classes here are not just a summer thing but a multi-year discipline with clear levels and tests every month. I’ve put my kids in three different programs and half of them kick us out for limited viewing, there’s no participation. No parents.

I’m going to to guess that it has something with the same reason Japan forces camera sounds on phones…

So yeah, city park pools are your best bet. Get a long sleeve “rash guard” if that helps cover your tattoos
