  1. In Mie also a tremendous lack of mosquitoes. I recognized what I remember as a youth in the States the smell of “mosquito spray,” which was generally distributed aerosolized from a truck which moved slowly around my neighborhood streets. Your eyes would sting if you pedaled your bicycle too closely. But I remember, it was very affective against mosquitoes.

  2. One of them decided to bite my eyelid last month and make it all swollen and stupid looking for a few days

  3. I got bitten so bad multiple times, literally had bumps the size of a golfball on my ankle and arm.

  4. Weather reports said it was literally too hot for mosquitoes in the summer. Now, they’re getting their revenge.

  5. We have *blackflies* in the yard now! Didn’t even know they existed in Japan. Nasty little buggers. 🙁

  6. They were all in my yard taking turns on biting me on the neck, the left wrist, and a spot on my left forearm right before it turns into elbow……and the massive swelling let me know they were there. I swear they left a mark for the others. kept getting bit in the same spots

  7. I killed 13 in my kitchen yesterday. It’s become absolutely crazy after all the rain and the reduced heat

  8. Well, I only have other last two summers to compare but… at least here in Osaka I have noticed that instead of being “A metric fuckload” of mosquitoes this year, there was just a “Normal ammount” of mosquitoes… I did also moved to an 11th floor, so that might have warped my perception extra…
