Has Duolingo improved?

Just asking if anyone knows if Duolingo has improved its Japanese lessons or if it’s still disjointed and sometimes inaccurate.

  1. I mess around with Duolingo every now and then and for what it’s worth it does seem like they’re invested in making it better for language learning.

They added stories awhile back which I think is a pretty big step in the right direction, and I have to say they’re pretty damn good stories if you compare them to graded readers of a similar difficulty level.
That and it might just be me imagining things but I feel as though the Japanese has gotten more natural.

I used to be fairly anti-Duolingo because it felt they were more concerned with making a “fun app” with a “language learning” theme rather than making a “fun language learning app” but with the new direction they’re headed in I can’t help but root for them.
It’s not for me but I can see why people would find it appealing.
