Can someone help me understand when to use 気にいるvs。好きな

I’ve gotten mixed responses from teachers and I don’t really get it.

  1. So what did you learn so far? We can help you best of we know what misconceptions you might have.

  2. 気に(入)いる is to be pleased where 好きな is to like something.

    They both convey fondness or positive feelings. 好きな needs to have another verb with it usually a form of です or 有る.

    気に(入)いる is also a verb so conjugates differently than 好きな which is an adjective

Looked into an N5 vocabulary list to see if I could understand everything. There were a few words I didn’t know so for fun and practice I tried to write a little text using some of those words. I know it’s asking a lot but any form of (friendly) feedback and corrections are welcomed.

Now the little story. トムは起きたのあとに部屋を掃除して始めました。掃除しながら色々なたくさん古い物を見つけました。この物のうちに美しい茶碗もあったけど、あの茶碗はもう壊れしまいました。トムは「残念だね、新しい茶碗を買いはずだろうか」と思いました。 掃除を終わりのあとにトムさん新しい茶碗を買うのためにショッピングモールへ行くをことにしました。地下鉄でのりました。 モールで小さい本屋に気づ来ました。本が好きだから本屋に入って見回しました。本屋に本ばかりではなく葉書・文房具などのものを売れました。トムさんは面白く古くみえた字引を気づいたけど、ちょっと高かったから、買わないのを決めました。ついにきれいな葉書と封筒を買いました。レジさんにお金を渡して本やを出ました。 本屋のとなりにコンビニがありました。ドアはちょっと開けにくいだからトムさんはドアを開けるのためにギュット押さなければなりませんでした。 トムさんは例えば砂糖・石鹸・他の家庭用品を買いました。 そのあとにトムさんは地下鉄で家に戻りました。 帰ったときに「くそ。新しい茶碗を買うことを忘れちゃった」と思いました。 _____________< The words I tried to implement…
