What is 休会 at the gym?

I recently joined a gym and saw 休会 on their website. Is it just a reduced rate you pay to stay a member but when you are taking a break from the gym?

I sprained my ankle pretty badly and will probably be out of commission for a month until it heals, wanted to see if I could pause my membership or something to see if I can save some cash

    Yup!

  2. Yes, it’s a temporary pause in membership. Every gym would have different policies (Reduced fee vs. Completely free, Time limited vs. Indefinite, Needs a valid reason vs. No reasons asked etc.)

The gym nearest my place instated a limited time 休会 policy when COVID happened and people understandably didn’t want to touch the machines.

  3. How does a sprained ankle stop you from bench pressing and pumping the guns!? The gainz train never stops.

  4. God I wish I would’ve thought about this when I herniated my disc and was hospitalized. It’s been about 4 weeks and I didn’t even think to pause my membership.

  5. Hey just wanted to comment on the sprained ankle since I did the same thing earlier this year, took me about 2 weeks to walk without limping, recommend the Eve quick dx painkiller. Took about 2 months for the swelling to go down, and took about 3 months before I was doing cardio or even slow jogs… But I got myself pretty good so maybe you’ll heal faster than me.
