Hello there!
We had planned three weeks in Japan for End of October – mid november manly focusing on Kyushu. Due to uncertainity of Japan opening we decided to do instead a South Korea roundtrip.
Because South South Korea and Kyushu are so close we decided to adjust our itinierary just a bit and fit at least 4 days on Japan (Fukuoka and surroundings).
Now I‘ve seen that theres the JR Beetle which for now is suspended. Are there any information about its reopening the route? It would fit perfectly our itinerary going from Busan to Fukuoka (also from an eco viewpoint) by Boat and then we‘ll fly to Seoul for our ladt few days there. The werbsite doesnt say anything else then suspended, and googling doesnt give me anymore infos.
(Kinda mad and sad that it‘s announced so shortly – but happy for everyone who can go! Hope we can at least set our foot just a few days on the country)

The official news is that they aim to renew the operation by the end of the fiscal year (31 March 2023).
The less official news is that they are having huge problems with hiring staff for that route and you can easily see on there site that there are multiple job offers listed as starting on 1 Decemeber 2022.
So, my bet would be that somewhere that operations will resume between beginning of December this year and March of next year.
