Would buying a sim card from Amazon be a good choice for me?

Hey guys

I’m currently doing an exchange semester in Japan and I am in need of a sim card with (mostly) data because the wifi in my dorm is unreliable and I need it for daily life anyway. Browsing Amazon I found out there are many options for simcards that are valid for 6 months, 1 year etc etc with like 50gb on it. I have a European iPhone 13 that uses the regular sim card I assume is globally the same. I don’t have and will not have a bank account and would prefer not to deal with phone providers to get a plan. But I don’t know if these amazon sim cards are the right choice for me that would work. Has anyone tried this before? Can anyone give me any advice about this?

  1. They seem pretty good value and designed for the purpose you want. I’d definitely stick to NTT/Docomo for maximum compatibility. Note they need to be activated within a month or so of despatch. Other than that I don’t see any issues if you have a carrier unlocked iPhone with spare SIM slot or pocket WiFi.
