I’m preparing for the N4 and wondering if Minna No Nihongo Elementary Japanese books 1 and 2 are enough to pass? or if its overkill? I just don’t know where the cutoff of what I should be studying for the test is.
I know it’s a long title, but I have the first 2 books Minna No Nihongo and was told that the second book is too much, but it has N4 stuff in it. Is anyone familiar with these books?

I think they do some 500 kanji, which is more than the 284 or so you’d see on the N4, but their grammar should be spot in.
