Did anyone either have the foresight or a pure luck of capitalizing on the yen-ruble exchange? Had you purchased rubles when it was lowest in early-mid March and exchanged them back to yen today, the return would have been 2.5 times. Still double if the timing was somewhat off.

… But I bought yen at 143 to the USD. Fuck that garbage money. I still remember the early 90s and how long it took to recover. That’s a bad bet unless you can wait 30 years for a return before it immediately shoots itself in the foot and plunges again.
That’s the trick. Nobody will buy at the official rate.
How about liquidity?
