The crazy thing is [Agriculture, forestry, and fishing combined only represent about 1% of Japan’s GDP.](https://www.theglobaleconomy.com/Japan/Share_of_agriculture/) When you compare that to tourism, according to [JETRO,](https://www.jetro.go.jp/en/invest/attractive_sectors/tourism/overview/) the total tourism industry including domestic is about 359 billion or about 7% of the 5 trillion GDP, with direct foreign tourism being about 46 billion or 1%.
Agricultural and tourism seem like such big sectors and they are but it’s truly astounding to see how big Japan’s economy is in general.
Fun fact, all of that money came from the sale of three of those premium peaches.
What do they mostly export?
Ramen noodles?
Kinda misleading title… 5th most by value, definitely not by calories or volume.
